Western Carolina University weekend

Back in NC!  This past weekend was long awaited.  Back in August I bought the tickets for the band performance (aka football game) and then I started counting the days.

We got into town on Thursday afternoon.  We went and had much needed haircuts and some dinner.

On Friday morning Mark had a couple of doctor appointments.  I stayed at the truck to clean and organize and get my things ready to come off the truck. Friday evening we were fortunate enough to be able to get together with some wonderful friends we met at church over five years ago.  We had some great food and played a few cutthroat board games before we said goodnight.

Saturday morning we picked up Andrew and headed to Western Carolina University.  We got there in plenty of time to be able to see Adam and the percussion section warm up.  As usual the game and show did not disappoint.  The football team lost but it was a really good game.  The band show this year is  " Now is the Time"  and it was my favorite yet.  The Pride of the Mountains Marching Band  is truly the "baddest band in the land".  They never cease to amaze me with what they can accomplish in a relatively short time.  Also, it's always good to get to see some of my former Carolina Gold kids.

After the game we just hung out and ate pizza and then we all crashed early.  Or, rather the kids and Mark did.   I was trapped in a cacophony of snores and sleep talking.  There was not much sleep coming my way.  However, as loud and obnoxious as it was, there was no more beautiful sound to my ears!

Sunday morning we had to say goodbye to Adam but I will see him again in a few weeks for Thanksgiving.  We rode back to Zebulon listening to the Carolina Panthers kick some butt.  Dropped Andrew off and then Mark and I had some other errands to run.

Later, I dropped Mark off at the truck and he gave Andrew a crash course in "truck stuff".  I think Andrew is really getting exciting about going to school in January to get his CDL.
After that it was time for me to say goodbye to Mark for seven weeks.  I will be staying here in town to get some things done and help out my bestie get her new home in order.

Oh and the Saints beat the previously undefeated Rams.

All in all, a great weekend.

Much love!

Oh that smile!
